Validator Instructions: Show us your baby/child!

The aim of this job is to collect 5 different pictures of babies/children for AI training.

Step 1 - checking the personal data

  1. Gender of the baby/child
  2. The selected age group must match the date of birth provided by the user
  3. Ethnicity. The customer gave us 4 groups.
    Qualify the baby/child to one of these groups based on the ethnicity given in the job.
    In case of mixed ethnicities use the one which is more visible.
    The country code (two letters) of the Clickworker account registration country is shown at the top of the job.

Step 2 - checking the pictures

We need homemade biometric-ID-like photos featuring various backgrounds and facial expressions.
Click on the line starting with sign for detailed explanations and visual examples.
1. Images must be of the child's face from the shoulders up.
2. The baby/child must be fully dressed!

If the user uploads a photo of a partially or fully naked child, select "Block Clickworker"

3. At least 80% of the face must be visible. No face occlusions are allowed (medical masks, sunglasses, etc.)
4. Make sure that the face is clearly visible - no shades or very dark pictures!
5. Facial expression must be natural
6. Child's eyes must be open (in case of babies 2 pictures with closed eyes are allowed)
7. Babies may be lying down or be held by a parent
8. No other people can be visible in the picture (pay attention also to the photos and painting in the background!)

Feedback Quality Policy

Feedback must be complete and precise. Please follow these guidelines:
  1. Select all applicable rejection comments for each photo using the blue rejection comment box next to it;
  2. Use the rejection comment checkboxes in the bottom section of the job only if the comment applies to the entire job
    (Guide for Validators, section 2.2 “Rejecting the job”, p.12)

    Examples:
    • The rejection comment “The person in the photo is an adult, not a child” can usually be applied to the entire job, provided the same person appears in all photos.
    • The rejection comment “The eyes are closed” can be applied to the entire job only if the eyes are closed in all five photos.
    • The rejection comment “Requested changes were not made” can be applied to the entire job only if none of the changes requested by the previous validator were implemented.

    Exceptions:
    1. If you:
      • selected "Block Clikworker" (see Rejection and Resubmission Policy below),
      • or marked job as Spam,
      then no rejection comments regarding the photo quality are required.
    2. The rejection comment “Spam” can be applied to the entire job even if only one of the photos is considered spam.

Rejection / Resubmission Policy

  1. If the user uploads a photo of a partially or fully naked child, select "Block Clickworker";
  2. If at least three out of five photos need to be redone, provide detailed feedback on any three and select "Discard job" without reviewing the remaining two - despite what the Feedback Quality Policy states;
  3. If the person in the photo is an adult, select "Block Clickworker" and "Mark job as suspicious";
  4. 📌 If you're unsure whether the person is an adult, please ask in Teams and include the work item number and a photo.
  5. If the Clickworker is less than 15 years older than the baby/child, select "Block Clickworker" and "Mark job as suspicious", and use the rejection comment:
  6. The consent form can only be filled out by the parent or legal guardian of the photographed child. We suspect that you are not the parent or legal guardian. If you have documents to verify this, please create a support ticket and include the Workitem number.

If you have any questions, please post them in Photo Validation MS Teams channel.
